Vessels of Peace: Opening reception

Vessels of Peace: photographs, drawings and paintings by Nanette Hatzes of Gettysburg, PA.

'This recent work is Hatzes' response to the current horrors taking place in the Middle East and elsewhere. As a counter to the damaging effects of images of violence and devastation on our collective psyches, Hatzes offers up each drawing, photograph, and painting as a meditation and a visual prayer. Images of women are at the center of this exhibition, as women are the ones who suffer most, and are expected to care for those who suffer. Our vessels may be fragile—but we are strong.

Opening reception: Friday, April 3rd from 6-9 p.m.
Featuring live jazz group Ken Jankura and Joe Dennison

The show runs through May 31, 2015
